The Widow D’Arcy

An imaginary horse enthusiast, fine art graduate, inventor, and song maker in every sense of the word, Branwen Kavanagh’s latest and most exciting project to date is The Widow D’Arcy. Having spent the previous 5 years performing as one half of the celebrated art folk duo Twin Headed Wolf, (praised as «Glastonbury’s most special festival find» by Spectator Magazine) Branwen has expanded her creative world to be a project with many collaborators and many manifestations. As an Award nominated (RSD Graduate Award) multi-disciplinary artist and musician she is an extremely innovative and inventive act to behold. You will always be surprised by her wildly well executed shows. Musically speaking she is a celebrated traditional singer in Dublin’s exploding traditional scene and is known to silence many a session with her powerful and unusual voice. Her own songs are influenced by rituals, objects and her imagination, her songs though ethereal have a way of staying with you long after you heard them first. Expect unmusical objects as instuments, loop pedals, and of course a guitar or two. She is currently recording her first solo EP and planning an Irish tour.

S.L.Y.C. kom i høst med sitt andre album, «Say, the illocuted way», på Metronomicon Audio. De består for anledningen av Sigurd Bergflødt på trommer, Sara Lena Yri Cools på keyboard og vokal, Daniel Meyer Grønvold på gitar og Thomas Meidell på keyboard og bassgitar.
